About Mari

I have been serving my community for the past several years working as a grassroots organizer with Friends of Adeline, a multigenerational, multiracial coalition of neighbors that focuses on the right to housing and social justice.

I currently serve as Vice Chair of the Housing Advisory Commission, where I advocated for the development of a city wide preference policy to protect our neighbors from displacement by creating a right to stay and a right to return. As an elected Rent Board Commissioner, I supported strong eviction protections throughout the COVID pandemic and supported federal rent relief for landlords and tenants.

I have shown that my commitment to our neighborhoods and to the needs of our community are unbound. My values are rooted in community input and the honoring of place and space for our long time residents, new neighbors and small businesses.

As your Council Member for District 8, I will continue to provide strong leadership and representation as a reliable voice for the issues that are important to our neighborhood. I will serve with integrity, accountability and passion because that’s who I am.

I will work to support:

I am the candidate who will make sure that all the voices in District 8 are heard. I am the right choice for City Council District 8. Moving Us Forward Together.
